Chelsea Snatch Late Win

Salomon Kalou's injury time strike has kept Chelsea in the title race and got my trading back on track for the day.

After losing £89.52 on the Liverpool v Arsenal game, I needed to recover some of my losses on the PremPlus game tonight.

I started backing Chelsea late in the game at relatively big prices and managed to make a profit of £96.47.

So a small daily profit of £6.95 so far and I can look forward to the Spanish double header with a bit more confidence and a bigger bankroll.

Will update later

Half Time Update

A pretty miserable 1st half for Arsenal, and for my trading.

2 Peter Crouch strikes have put Liverpool in total control and the Gunners look lightweight on their travels again.

I'm staring down the barrel of a big loss. Not a great start

Crouch strikes early

An early goal by Peter Crouch has put my initial trades in trouble.

I am staying invested at the moment, and hope that a 2nd goal doesn't follow quickly.

The Argentinian Mascharano has made a fabulous start to his Livepool career, biting into challenges and setting the tempo for the rest of the team.

Will update later

Liverpool v Arsenal

At last some decent football to trade on, and hopefully I can round of March with a nice profitable day.

I have layed over 2.5 goals, liability of £64.80 and have backed the draw for £37.

Hopefully I will be able to trade out for a profit in the 1st half.

Will update on progress later

Premiership Relegation

With the distraction of the International break now thankfully over, the fight for Premiership survival hots up again on the weekend.

Watford look doomed already and face Chelsea in the PremPlus game on Saturday, with another home defeat on the cards.

But there could be some opportunities for profit by following West Ham and Charlton. Both have winnable home games, against Middlesboro and Wigan respectively and 2 home wins will send tremors through some of the other strugglers.

Sheffield Utd have hit the wall at the wrong time and with Rob Hulse ruled out for the season, they may find goals hard to come by. A trip to Bolton will not be one for the purists but supporters of clubs in and around the drop zone will hope that Big Sam's outfit rediscover some form and resilience.

Man City are still in the mix and have an away game at Newcastle, whilst my team Fulham will look to grind out 3 points at home to Portsmouth.

A lay of West Ham @1.12 and Charlton @1.54 to be relegated may well reap some rewards, so I have got involved and hope to trade out for a profit in the coming days

The Football Trader

Welcome to a new blog that follows the progress of a part time Football Trader.

I started trading on Betfair at the beginning of March and through a mixture of luck and good judgement have managed to amass a profit of over £500 so far.

Looking at my Betfair profit and loss statement for that period it is clear that I was making good money trading on football, but have been giving back my hard earned gains on other sports that I know much less about (Darts, Cricket and Horses to name but a few).

The plan now is to stick to trading on football and try and make small but regular profits.

You can follow my trading progress here and hopefully pick up some nice betting advice & tips as I detail the inevitable ups and downs of my new part time job.
