Lucky Maclaren must make a point

So just a draw required against Croatia on Wednesday to ensure another summer of hype for the England national team.

Even the incompetent Maclaren and a makeshift side should be able to deliver that result against a side that has already qualified (and who lost against Macedonia in a mudbath in the weekend).

Michael Owen's absence is as predictable as it is annoying (if he was one of his own thoroughbred horses in training he would have been shot by now) and England need to look at a more reliable alternative.

At Wembley England have been fairly reliable in recent months, and with any other manager in charge I would have no worries about England's qualification..

Can the ginger bald denier deliver??
