Paying big money to PR Guru's is no guarantee of public affection (just look at Team McCann) especially when you are inherently unpopular and ineffective.
Steve McClaren drafted in Max Clifford to act as a personal spin doctor and he may have slightly improved his image along the way, but even Clifford must have choked when he saw the Ginger Bald denier under a brolly at Wembley last week.
It is common knowledge that Brian Barwick's number 1 was totally out of his depth, had a weak CV and was part of Sven's management team that should have been swept away.
But to turn up with an umbrella was just totally unforgiveable, obviously a ginger combover is quite precious and it goes well with a ruddy red complexion that no doubt will turn as purple as Sir Alex in a couple of years.,
Some people are just beyond help and McClaren falls into that category - no talent, no style and no balls, good riddance - hopefully this experience will wipe that inance grin off your face
