Jewell backed for City job

ex -Wigan boss Paul Jewell has halved in price this evening in the next Man City manager market.

Jewell was my initial fancy to get he job (tipped up on this blog on May 14th) and has been trading at above 20/1 for the last couple of weeks. His price plummeted to 7/1 about 30 minutes ago and has since bounced to 10/1.

The names being bandied around for this job are amongst some of the most sought after managers in Europe, but I have always had major suspicions about the proposed Thai take-over and even if this prolonged drama eventually goes ahead, the Man City job is hardly the most glamorous post.

When the City board get back in the real world, Jewell could be a realistic target and would be a better option than Chris Coleman.
