AC Milan v Liverpool

Punters have been smashing into Milan to lift the famous jug eared trophy on Wednesday evening.

The Italians clearly should not even have been in the competition after their part in the Serie A match fixing scandal. Their 44 point deduction was reduced to 30 points on appeal to conveniently allow them entry into the Champions League.

An impressive semi final performance against big match bottlers Man Utd seems to have clouded the judgement of traders.

I have layed AC Milan at 1.69 for a small liability and with less than 24 hours to kick off I am very bullish about Liverpool's chances.

Benitez has the tactical nous to exploit an ageing Milan side who have been carried to the final by the goalscoing exploits of the sublime Kaka.

I will be getting stuck in more tomorrow, but if you are thinking of trading on the match, take the time to check out the press kit provided by the excellent Uefa website.

To me the key is in the forward positions, in '05 Milan had the movement and finishing ability of Crespo and Shevchenko in '07 they will rely on one of Inzaghi (surname offside) or Gilardino (surname anonymous).

If Benitez can organise his side to keep Kaka quiet and move the influential Gattuso out of central areas I fully expect Liverpool to record their 6th win
