Conference Play Off - The X-Factor

I'm sure there is a quiz question about how many League clubs there are with an X in their name, but for the life of me I can't remember what it is. I will try and remember what it is by the end of this article.

Whatever the answer, 2 former League clubs with the aforementioned X Factor meet in the Conference Play off Semi Final 2nd Leg tonight (live on Sky Sports).

Oxford looked nailed on for a swift return to the Football League after a blistering start to their Conference campaign. But a mid season slump allowed Dagenham & Redbridge to secure the title, leaving Oxford to try their luck in the play off lottery.

They made a great start in the 1st leg and secured a 1-0 victory at the 'other' St James' Park in Exeter, and according to the prices on www.Betfair.com are now almost nailed on to reach the play off final against Morecambe.

Oxford are available to lay at 1.20 to qualify and that looks far too short for a side that has failed to win at the Kassam Stadium on 12 occasions during the regular season.

1 goal for Exeter puts them right back in the tie, and although away goals don't count in this competition their looks to be some value in getting with the Grecians.

Lisa's brother, Adam Stansfield (copyright: the legend that is Jeff Stelling) can be prolific at this level and alongside John Mackie can cause problems for an Oxford side that sometimes feels the pressure in front of an expecatant and large home crowd.

I have layed Oxford to qualify at 1.20.

One quiz question I do remember on a similar theme is - Name the players that have played in the Premiership and for England who have an X in their surname (I think there are 3) - correct answers will win nothing except the privilege of being the first person to ever leave a comment on my blog!
