I had already assumed that the appointment of Sam Allardyce at Newcastle was a done deal.
However you can still get involved at www.Betfair.com where he is priced at 1.24 to replace Glen Roeder.
Surely the timing of his resignation and the departure of Roeder were not a co-incidence, so I am having a small interest in this market, as I believe that Big Sam will be in place (as an observer) by the weekend.
No other candidate is a single figure price, with Juande Ramos (11.50) and Chris Coleman (17.00) the next in the betting.
I would be amazed if Coleman gets the job after watching Fulham almost self destruct under his leadership, and Juande Ramos has bigger fish to fry, namely a potential Champions League campaign with Sevilla.
